An employee time clock built for small business

Give employees a clear start, break and finish to the workday. Keep the record in one place instead of scattered across paper, messages and spreadsheets.

One familiar routine, on a phone or computer

Employees sign in to their own account, open the time clock and record the start of their shift. The browser interface puts the current status and primary action up front. Recent time entries are available below the clock so people can check what was recorded.

A small team should not need a new hardware rollout just to record hours. The browser clock works on internet-connected phones and computers. Employees can save a home-screen shortcut; managers can keep the dashboard open at the office.

Know what was saved

A saved-punch message confirms an action. A failed request shows an error rather than pretending the clock-in worked. The web clock requires an internet connection: it does not silently invent an offline timestamp. If an employee works without a connection, use a documented correction process and preserve the actual work time.

Review the day, not just the total

Managers can inspect open shifts and recent completed entries before a payroll handoff. Make missed-punch corrections with a reason and check employee questions before approval. Gates Timekeeping is a time-recording tool, not a determination of which time must be paid.

Try a small rollout first

Begin with an owner and two employees using test records alongside your existing process. Confirm start and end times, breaks, phone access and the export your bookkeeper expects. Expand when the workflow is understood. Paired kiosks and validated offline mobile punches are not available in this pilot.

Questions from small teams

Is a native app required?

No. Start with the browser clock on iPhone, Android or desktop. Native app-store releases are separate from the web pilot.

Can people share a login?

Use a separate login for every person. The shared PIN kiosk is disabled until secure company-specific device pairing is ready.

Does the timer mean paid hours?

The timer shows elapsed time since clock-in. Review completed entries and the applicable paid/unpaid break policy before using totals for payroll.
